5,800,000 People in Line for Up To $2,500 in Credit Check Settlement, With September 22nd Deadline
700Credit is resolving a class action lawsuit over a data breach by offering payouts to millions of affected individuals.
The proposed settlement resolves claims that the company failed to prevent unauthorized access to its 700Dealer.com web application on or about October 25, 2025, potentially exposing names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable information.
The company denies any wrongdoing.
The class includes living U.S. residents who received notice of the incident in July or August 2026, covering approximately 5.8 million people.
Class members may claim reimbursement of ordinary losses up to $2,500 with reasonable documentation such as bank statements or receipts, or a flat cash payment estimated at $50 with no proof required.
All settlement class members are also eligible for two years of credit monitoring services.
Payments are subject to pro rata adjustment based on the number of valid claims.
Claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by September 22, 2026.
The final approval hearing is set for October 7, 2026.
Opt-out and objection deadlines were September 8, 2026.
