67,115 Americans Affected After Hackers Hit Healthcare Firm – Trove of Personal and Medical Data Now at Risk

A data security incident that targeted a Tennessee-based healthcare provider has compromised the sensitive personal information of 67,115 individuals.

In a statement, Tri-Cities Gastroenterology says that on or sometime around December 11th, 2025, an unauthorized third-party actor accessed certain systems in the firm’s network environment.

The result of the forensic investigation that came out on April 22nd, 2026 shows that the files that were removed from the network contained the protected health information of certain individuals, which include their full name, Social Security number, date of birth, address, email address, telephone number, gender and medical record number.

Tri-Cities Gastroenterology says there are no indications that the security breach led to incidents of fraud or identity theft but it decided to inform the affected individuals. The company also advised them on best practices to protect their information.

“Out of an abundance of caution commencing on April 29, 2026, Tri-Cities Gastroenterology notified individuals whose information was included in the files that may have been accessed and removed by an unauthorized party.”

The company says it offered complimentary credit monitoring to those whose Social Security numbers were included in the impacted files.
