Arkansas Bank Issues Warning After Vendor Misdirected Customer File — SSNs and Accounts at Risk

An Arkansas bank is warning customers that a third-party vendor misdirected a file containing Social Security numbers and account details to the wrong worker at another financial institution.

Centennial Bank, including its Happy State Bank division, says an associate at Fidelity Information Services (FIS) was preparing a secure email on August 7th of 2026 when the file went to an unintended recipient who shared the same first name as the intended bank contact.

A Massachusetts Attorney General filing shows 19 people in that state are impacted.

The file may have included names, mailing addresses, dates of birth, account numbers, balances, transaction details, tax information and Social Security numbers.

The unintended recipient opened the file on August 10th of 2026, realized the mistake and notified FIS.

FIS told the bank on August 17th of 2026.

The recipient confirmed deletion and the recipient institution issued a Certificate of Destruction on August 26th of 2026 certifying that copies were destroyed and the information was not used or transferred.

FIS recalled the email, retrained the associate and added enhanced validation checks while the bank put enhanced monitoring on affected accounts.

The bank says it has no indication the information was misused. In its notification letter the bank described the disclosure.

“We are writing to inform you of an incident that may have resulted in the unauthorized disclosure of some of your personal information, including your Social Security number.”

Official notices offer 24 months of complimentary Epiq Credit Monitoring Solutions identity monitoring.
