Coordinated Network of X Accounts Manufacturing Geopolitical Panic To Fuel Pump-and-Dump Crypto Scams: ZachXBT

The pseudonymous blockchain investigator ZachXBT says a network of accounts on the social media platform X is taking advantage of the crisis in the Middle East to promote fraudulent crypto schemes.

The widely followed onchain analyst tells his nearly 985,000 X followers that the accounts create exaggerated or fake news about the war that go viral and attract millions of views as well as thousands of likes and replies each day.

“I uncovered a coordinated network of 10+ accounts manufacturing viral panic about war and politics to drive traffic to crypto scams.”

ZachXBT says the scheme involves buying accounts with followers, doomposting several times per day, reposting content using alt accounts, promoting scams and then changing username.

He says the accounts in the network have links to fake giveaways and a pump and dump scam.

“Ten X accounts in the cluster all promoted the pump and dump crypto scam $ORAMAMA on February 22, 2026 before never posting about it again. Onchain evidence suggests the scheme profited six figures.”

Following his posts, ZachXBT says that X appears to have suspended all of the 16 scam accounts that he found. He says the accounts were likely farming engagement once again for another upcoming scam.

“I believe platform manipulation should result in bans and face legal consequences given the propaganda has many X users currently falling for fake news every day. Personally as a best practice I try to review recent posts and account details before engaging with content, due to how widespread engagement farming and AI slop / spam has become on social media ( it is not a problem that’s unique to X).” Follow us on X, Facebook and Telegram
