Grubhub Agrees To $5,000,000 Delivery Fee Settlement for Customers In California – Here’s Who’s Eligible

Delivery giant Grubhub is preparing to send millions of dollars in credit to customers to settle a lawsuit over the company’s fees and prices.

In a lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of the State of California, plaintiffs Charles Wang and others accuse Grubhub of making false or misleading representations over delivery fees, service fees and menu prices on its delivery orders.

The alleged false or misleading representations over fees and prices happened between January 24th, 2019, and January 12th, 2026.

Customers who ordered and paid for food via the Grubhub or Seamless app to a California address on those dates are class members.

They can receive a $10.00 Grubhub site credit for use on the Grubhub app or website, distributing a total of up to $5 million in vouchers.

Affected customers may submit a claim through this portal on or before May 12th.

A state court has authorized the notice for a settlement and granted a preliminary approval order. A final approval hearing is slated for April 29th.

Grubhub denies all claims and any wrongdoing or liability.

“The Court has not decided in favor of the Plaintiffs or Grubhub. Instead, both sides have agreed to the Settlement to avoid the costs and uncertainty of a trial; if the Settlement is approved by the Court, Settlement Class Members will receive the benefits described in this Notice.

The proposed Settlement does not mean that any law was broken or that Grubhub did anything wrong… Plaintiffs and their lawyers think the proposed Settlement is best for everyone affected.”
