Illinois Man Turns Birthday Gift Into $1,000,000 Million Lottery Jackpot
An Illinois resident has transformed a simple birthday present into a life-changing $1 million lottery victory.
The winning ticket arrived in an envelope from a friend at a celebration organized by his wife, reports UPI.
Numbers 11-17-22-26-36-45 matched the August 8th Lotto Million 2 drawing for the top prize.
The man initially believed the ticket paid only $1,000 after a friend reviewed the results.
“I never would’ve imagined actually winning. I was in complete shock. My wife even started tearing up.”
He added that a $1,000 payout seemed like a solid outcome until the full amount came to light.
Staff at the claims center corrected the misunderstanding by announcing the true jackpot total.
Plans for the money include family trips to Florida, a possible new vehicle, and a cruise marking his 40th anniversary along with his children’s birthdays.
