Maryland Man Wins $50,000 Lottery Prize Using Old New York Zip Code
A Maryland lottery player has claimed a $50,000 Pick 5 prize by playing the zip code from his old New York home.
The Columbia resident told lottery officials the digits were 11694 from his years in Queens, and his wife bought the ticket at Columbia Auto Care and Wash on Little Patuxent Parkway for the August 30th evening drawing, reports UPI.
He checked the results later that night and was shocked to see the win.
The winner says he told his wife right away.
“It really was something. I showed my wife and she made sure to check again to be sure.”
The couple plans to put new tires on her vehicle and fund a vacation next year.
