Tyson, Hormel and Other Pork Producers Handing $117,000,000 To Shoppers In 24 States After Alleged Price-Fixing

Major pork producers are preparing to hand more than $117 million to shoppers who say they paid too much for bacon and other raw pork cuts.
The proposed class settlement covers people who bought raw pork bacon or fresh or frozen cuts made from bellies, loins, shoulders, ribs or pork chops between June 28th of, 2014, and June 30th of, 2018, in Arizona, California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia.
Plaintiffs accuse Clemens, Hormel, JBS, Seaboard, Smithfield, Triumph and Tyson of working together to raise pork prices, with Agri Stats sharing pricing data among processors and buyers.
The companies deny any wrongdoing.
Agri Stats has agreed to reform certain business practices but not pay any money. Clemens has agreed to pay $13.5 million. Hormel has agreed to pay $4.465 million. Seaboard has agreed to pay $10 million. Triumph has agreed to pay $4.1 million. Tyson has agreed to pay $85 million. The total amount of the Defendants’ individual settlement payments is $117.065 million.
Class members can get cash based on how much pork they bought in the period through this portal.
Claims, exclusions and objections are due by October 29th of, 2026, and a final approval hearing is set for December 11th of, 2026.
