Utah Bank To Pay $2,800,000 To Settle Data Breach Claims Affecting Up To 689,000 Customers
FinWise Bank is settling claims from a data breach by agreeing to pay $2.8 million to eligible customers.
The agreement covers U.S. residents whose personal information was exposed, says the official settlement notice.
Class members may claim up to $5,000 for documented losses traceable to the breach or a pro rata cash payment from remaining funds, plus two years of three-bureau credit monitoring.
The official notice states the terms of the resolution.
“A $2,800,000 settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against FinWise Bank, FinWise Bancorp, and American First Finance related to a Data Incident experienced by FinWise Bank on or about May 31, 2024.”
Claims must be filed by October 29, 2026, via the settlement website or by mail to PO Box 4390, Portland, OR 97208-4390.
Payments to approved claimants are expected about 90 days after final approval.
